President and CEO
Kent Brown, President and CEO, holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from WVU and an MBA from Robert Morris University. He is originally from Beaver Falls, PA and currently resides in Trussville, Alabama. Prior to joining O’Neal, Kent worked for 17 years in the iron foundry industry as a Foundry Manager and later as Vice President and General Manager of foundries in TX, AL, and UT. Kent joined O’Neal in April of 2017 as the General Manager of the O’Neal Manufacturing Services facility in Louisville, Kentucky. Kent was promoted to President and CEO of O’Neal Manufacturing Services in October of 2017. Kent is responsible for O’Neal Manufacturing Service’s 1400 employees at their six locations in the U.S., one location in Mexico, and their division headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.
Russ Bagby, Chief Financial Officer, was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He also holds an MBA from the University of Alabama. Russ has over 20 years’ experience in accounting and finance. He began his career in public accounting with an international accounting firm. After two years, he entered the private industry working for a large family-owned manufacturing company. Russ has also worked in the coal mining industry and a start-up healthcare entity. Russ has been with O’Neal for six years. In the fall of 2017, he accepted his current position as CFO with O’Neal Manufacturing Services.
Director of Safety
Walt Brittain, Director of Safety, was born in Gadsden, Alabama and graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a B.S. in Industrial and Environmental Safety. Walt has worked in the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) field for over 20 years, with a mix of experience in Industrial, Construction and Demolition. He has over 15 years of multi-location responsibility knowledge. Walt joined O’Neal Manufacturing Services (OMS) in 2014 as the Manager of EHS. His experience with various types of industry and construction brings a refreshing eye of safety to the company. In 2019, Walt was promoted to the Director of Safety for OMS.
Director of Information Systems
Mark Chesebro, Director of Information Systems (I.S.), holds a BS degree from Louisiana State University and an MBA from the University of Alabama. He is originally from Huntsville, AL and has lived in Birmingham, Alabama for his entire career. Mark joined our company in 2017 as the Director of I.S. for O’Neal Manufacturing Service (OMS). His team supports applications, infrastructure, and desktops at multiple locations. Before joining OMS, Mark worked for our affiliate company O’Neal steel for 2 years. Prior to joining O’Neal, he culminated almost 40 years of Experience in I.T. He has worked for the past 27 years in I.T. management for metal related manufacturing companies.
Director of Human Resources
Amy Gartman, Director of Human Resources, was born in Sunflower, Alabama and graduated from The University of Montevallo with a B.S. degree. Amy has worked in Human Resources for 15 years as a Human Resources manager with State Farm Insurance and Financial Services. Amy holds multiple certifications including: Associate in Management (AIM), Professional of Human Resources (PHR) and a Society of Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) designation.
Director of Supply Chain Management
Danny Owens, Director of Supply Chain, grew up In Chattanooga, Tennessee and graduated from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. Since then he has lived in Birmingham for the last 20 years. Danny has been in the industry for 33 years with jobs in Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Operation Management, and Supply Chain. Of the 33 years in the industry, 20 of them have been with O’Neal Steel. When O’Neal Manufacturing Services began, Danny joined the team and was given the title of Director of Supply Chain.
Director of Sales and Marketing
Michael Richey, Director of Sales and Marketing, grew up in Pell City, Alabama where he and his family currently reside. Upon graduating from Auburn University in 2005, Michael started his career in sales at Clayton Industries, a fabricator and machine shop specializing in hydraulic cylinders. In 2008, he changed industries and began selling in the Full-Service Class 8 Truck Leasing industry where he spent nearly a decade before joining the Supply Chain Team at O’Neal Manufacturing Services (OMS) in 2017. Michael brings over 10 years of sales and marketing experience across Transportation and Fabrication industries. In 2019, Michael was promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing.
