O’Neal Manufacturing Services (OMS)- Indianapolis, IN

Rickey Banks- Machine Lead

Explain what you do at OMS:

I am currently the Machine Lead for 3rd shift. I assist coworkers whenever they need anything. I run multiple machines to help the company, and I take over supervisor roles when needed.

How did you first learn about OMS?

I stumped upon OMS through Indeed.

How has OMS helped you in your career development?

OMS has strengthened my skills and knowledge in machining and programming while also building my leadership skills in the process.

What are 3 words that describes OMS?

Opportunistic, Respectful, Fair.

What has been your favorite project so far?

I have enjoyed working on multiple projects throughout my time here so far. I don’t really have a preferred favorite.

What is your proudest moment at OMS?

My proudest moment was when I was offered the Machine Lead position. I was told by many of my peers that they believe in me and are proud of who I have become.

What does true leadership mean to you?

A true leader to me is being able to be supportive to everyone around you. Being able to understand and compromise while also maintaining a sense of leadership. Giving respect earns respect, it should never be demanded. A great leader is not only knowledgeable but is willing to go above and beyond.

What is on your wish list for the next 10 years at OMS?

In the next 10 years, I wish to be toped out in pay or at least have taken over the supervisor position for 3rd shift. I plan on being here for longer than 10 years and I feel the harder I work towards that goal, the sooner it can be achieved. I never would have thought I would be where I am today in less than 2 years. That being said, I feel this goal can be achieved sooner than 10 years. I’ll continue to strive towards that goal and build myself to be better equipped for when it arrives.

Thank you Rickey for continuing to uphold OMS’ core values! We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you.
